soliste, asook by o.a. die Unisa Musiekkompetisie.
Kaartjies is verkrygbaar by
Sien jou daar!
The Cape Town
Male Voice Choir
The Stilbaai Music Society has
another treat in store for our members and the music-loving inhabitants of our
village. Shortly after the Blondes, this famous choir pays us a visit. On
Saturday 8 September 2012 the 40 strong choir will perform in the NG Church
Hall –East at 19h30.This choir was founded in 1967 by Dr. Chris Molyneux for
men of all colors, creeds and backgrounds. The only criteria were the ability
to sing and a commitment to the choir. The aim of the choir is to bring the joy
of choral music to its members and audiences alike. The choir sings a varied
repertoire of male vocal music and has as its aim to provide entertaining live
performances of music to the community.
The Tatler London
magazine reports that their last performance was in the superb Wales Choir of the World Concert at the
Royal Festival Hall in London on July 7 and marked the high point for the
choir. The reporter also describes the rehearsal before the event as
“spine-tingling” and reports that the impact of the performance was evident in
the standing ovation and prolonged applause the choir received afterwards. Some
people were in tears, overcome with emotion of being witness to the performance
described as “breathtaking”.
No local music lover can afford to
miss this performance. Please watch out for posters and reports in the papers,
and buy your tickets at CUPZ or from any Committee member. The price of the
ticket is slightly higher due to the high performance fee and the number of
choir members taking part and will cost R70 for members and R90 for
non-members.
