
Their choice of music was from years long before the advent of the modern piano or the shiny flute - back to the court days of Frederik the Great, Händel and Bach, thus early 1700s. The program was divided into 4 sections: The court of Frederik the Great, Händel in London. Leipzig, and Paris. Amongst others, pieces included were JJ Quartz: Sonata in B min, CPF Bach: Variations on the Folie d'Espagna; GF Händel: Flute Sonata in G, op 1 nr 5; and J-P Rameneau: Le Rapperl des Oiseaux. Apparently Frederik the Great listened to a flute sonata every evening before retiring and wrote the charming Sonata in C maj which Bridget performed with great skill.

The concert ended with a brilliant performance of M Blavet's "La Lumagne". The two musicians clearly understand and support one another. The sharp tones of the clavichord contrasts wonderfully with the warm woody sound of the baroque flute - which brings an extra dimension to the music.

aan die gehoor bekendgestel en met groot virtuositeit en flambojansie opgedien.
Die kunstenaars het byvoorbeeld vertel dat die notasie van die musiek vir die
klaversimbel net vir die linkerhand geskryf word. Die regterhand moet konstant
improviseer word, wat Erik met uitnemendheid reggekry het! Tesame met Bridget se uitmuntende fluitspel was hierdie konsert ‘n wenner en het hulle die staande ovasie beslis verdien.
